Founded in 1943, it is the oldest football club in the South Korean league setup. They joined the National League in 2003.

History

The club was initially founded in 1943 as Joseon Railways FC, however the team name changed in 1948 after the establishment of Korean government, to Ministry of Transportation FC.

The team competed in the various semi-professional football competitions of the time, before changing its name again in 1963, this time becoming Korean Railways FC. There was to be a further name change in 1995 when it adopted the name Korea National Railroad FC,In 2004 renamed Incheon Korea National Railroad Football Club and in the middle of 2007 season the club's official name changed to Incheon Korail Football Club. At the end of the 2013 season they moved to Daejeon for the 2014 season.

National League and cup shocks

Incheon Korail were participants in the inaugural K2 League season in 2003, a competition they would go on to win in 2005 with a 4-2 aggregate victory over Suwon City.

The side developed something of a reputation as cup specialists, having knocked several K-League teams out of the Korean FA Cup tournament in the past. They have claimed victories over Bucheon SK, Chunnam Dragons, Incheon United and Suwon Samsung Bluewings (twice) in the tournament. They were semi-finalists in 2005, and reached the quarter-finals in 2001.
