DYAF-TV
DYAF-TV, channel 10, is the owned-and-operated station of Philippine television network ABS-CBN Corporation. Its studios and transmitter are located at the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Center at Luna St., La Paz, Iloilo City, with a transmitting power of 10,000 watts with effective radiating power of 50,000 watts.
History
- 1964 - DYAF-TV channel 4, the second television station in Western Visayas, was launched by ABS (later merging into ABS-CBN from ABS).
- 1973 - After the declaration of Martial Law by then-President Ferdinand Marcos, and the takeover of ABS-CBN by his crony, Roberto Benedicto, DYAF-TV reopened as DYYM-TV, and became part of the Banahaw Broadcasting Corporation (along with another ABS-CBN provincial stations, DYCB-TV 3 in Cebu and DYXL-TV 4 in Bacolod).
- 1986 - DYYM-TV was reverted to the original callsign DYAF-TV and reopened under ABS-CBN, its original owner.
- 1987 - DYAF-TV carries the Star Network with a gold tri-ribbon channel 4 logo with a star.
- 1989 - DYAF-TV started domestic satellite broadcasts to bring programs live from Manila.
- 1998 - TV Patrol Panay becomes the station's flagship newscast.
- 2001 - ABS-CBN Iloilo changes its frequency from Channel 4 to Channel 10.
