DT Group is the largest retailer and distributor of building materials in the Nordic countries. The company has been owned by Wolseley plc since 2006. It owns the chains Silvan and Stark in Denmark, Beijer Byggmaterial in Sweden, Neumann in Norway and Stark in Finland.
History
DT Group was founded as Aarhus Trælasthandel in 1896. In 1918, the name of the company was changed to Det Danske Trælastkompagni and in 1996 it was changed to Danske Trælast.[1]
In 2003, Danske Trælast was acquired by CVC Capital Partners for DKK 64 billion. In 2006, CVC Capital sold the company to Wolseley plc for 14.6 billion.[2]
