Dacoury Natche (born 1983), professionally known as DJ Dahi, is an American hip hop disc jockey (DJ) and music producer from Los Angeles, California. Dahi is perhaps best known for producing "Worst Behavior" by Canadian rapper Drake, as well as American rapper Kendrick Lamar's critically acclaimed album cut "Money Trees", which features Lamar's label-mate Jay Rock.[2] Dahi has also produced several tracks for various artists such as Lily Allen, Freddie Gibbs, Dom Kennedy, Lupe Fiasco, Mac Miller, Ty Dolla Sign, Pac Div, Travi$ Scott, Vic Mensa, Casey Veggies, Smoke DZA, Big Sean and Big Krit, among others.[3][4] He is also a member of Ty Dolla $ign's production team, D.R.U.G.$.

Musical career

DJ Dahi got his start in music, working as a disc jockey (DJ) while he was in college. He begun getting a buzz producing for local Los Angeles-based rappers such as Pac Div, TiRon, and Fashawn. His first big placement would be "My Type of Party," a single by Dom Kennedy's from his mixtape, The Yellow Album (2012). "My Type of Party" featured "laid cloudy layers of synth haze over wonky, synthetic drums." In 2012, he also produced Schoolboy Q's "Sexting," and then his most known production, "Money Trees" from Kendrick Lamar's platinum album Good Kid, M.A.A.D City.[5] In 2013, he produced "Hell of a Night" by Schoolboy Q[6] and "Worst Behavior" by Drake that charted at number 89 on the US Billboard Hot 100.[7][8] "Money Trees", which samples "Silver Soul" by indie rock band Beach House, was named the ninth best instrumental of the previous five years, by Complex on September 3, 2013.[9] Also later in September 2013, Complex named him the ninth best hip hop producer at the moment.[5] Recently he has had recording sessions with Kendrick Lamar, Big K.R.I.T., Jazmine Sullivan and Elle Varner, among others.[5][10]
