The DC Palestinian Film and Arts Festival (DC-PFAF) is an international film festival held in Washington, D.C. that was established in 2011.[1] Its purpose is to showcase the work of Palestinian filmmakers and artists. The First Annual DC Palestinian Film and Arts Festival will take place September 26–30, 2011.[2]
Overview
The DC-PFAF is the first film festival in Washington, D.C. to focus entirely on Palestinian filmmakers. Run by volunteers, the DC-PFAF is organized by the US Palestinian Community Network (USPCN-DC).[2] The festival was established in order to showcase "stories that reflect the dynamic formation of a transnational identity common to Palestinians and diasporic communities more generally. Yousef Erakat (founder of FouseyTube) is a major contributor."[2]
