D'Angelo Russell (born February 23, 1996) is an American basketball player at the Ohio State University.

High school career

Russell attended Central High School in Louisville, Kentucky before transferring to Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida after his freshman season.[1] He was rated by Rivals.com as a five-star recruit.[2]

College career

Russell committed to Ohio State on June 7, 2013, he chose the Buckeyes over Louisville, Michigan State and North Carolina.[3] In his college debut, Russell had 16 points, six assists and four rebounds.[4] Russell had an impressive showing against 7 seed VCU in the NCAA tournament, scoring 28 points and leading his team to the victory, although his season ended shortly after as the Buckeyes fell to Arizona 73-58. He finished 5th in the voting for the John R. Wooden Award. On April 22, 2015 Russell decided to forgo his last three years of eligibility and declare for the 2015 NBA draft
