Cyprus Basketball Division 1
The Cypriot First Division of the Men’s Basketball League is currently the top competition on the Cyprus Basketball calendar. It is run and governed by the Cyprus Basketball Federation.
Format
At present, 7 clubs compete in the league. The 7 teams play each other three times during the regular season, with the top four teams reaching the play-off stage for the championship title. The last team at the end of the season is relegated to the second division, whilst the champion of the second division is promoted. The champion and the runner-up automatically qualify to compete in the next season's FIBA's EuroChallenge competition.
