Cuya, Bohol
Cuya is one of the 44 barangays of the municipality of Ubay, in the province of Bohol, Philippines.
The barangay's total land area is 65.6 hectares (162 acres).[3] According to the 2010 census, it has a population of 516. In the last election, it had 342 registered voters, meaning that 66% of the population are aged 18 and over.[2]
Cuya celebrates its annual fiesta on 6 February in honor of their patron saint.
Location
Located on the eastern peninsula of the municipality, Cuya is bounded to the north by Guintabo-an and surrounded by Bohol Sea to the south, east and west. Cuya is about 18 km (11 mi) from the town center, Poblacion.
Etymology
Cuya was once part of Juagdan. The name came from the Visayan word cuya, which means eldest brother.
