Crustose lichen
A crustose lichen is a lichen that grows like a crust (crustose), mostly tightly pressed to its substrate (rocks, tree bark, etc.).[1] If parts of the crust peel up like a leaf, there is no "skin" (cortex) on the underside, as compared with leafy foliose lichens.
