Crossfire (band)

Crossfire was an Australian jazz-fusion band active from 1974-1983, and were one of Australia's most successful jazz-fusion groups, recording several albums for Warner Music.[1][2][3] The primary composers of the group were founding members Jim Kelly (guitars) and Michael Kenny (keyboards, piano). Other members over the years included Ian Bloxsom (percussion, glockenspiel), Greg Lyon and Phil Scorgie (electric bass), Don Reid and Tony Buchanan (saxophones, flute), John Proud, Doug Gallacher, Steve Hopes, and Mark Riley (drums).[4] Crossfire reunited briefly for 1991's Tension Release. A highlight for the group[5] was their performance at the Montreux Jazz Festival in 1982, which was recorded and released as a live album.[6] In total Crossfire recorded five studio albums,[7] the live album Live at Montreux, plus a live album as support band for the American jazz singer Michael Franks:
