Croatian Basketball Federation
The Croatian Basketball Federation (Croatian: Hrvatski košarkaški savez or HKS) is the governing body of basketball in Croatia.
It was founded in 19 December 1948 as a member of the larger Basketball Federation of Yugoslavia.[1] On 19 January 1992 the HKS joined the International Basketball Federation (FIBA).[1] Croatia competes in the European region of FIBA.
The Federation organizes the A-1 Liga and the Krešimir Ćosić Cup for men, and the A-1 Liga Žene and Ružica Meglaj-Rimac Cup for women. It also runs the Croatia men's national basketball team and the Croatia women's national basketball team.
