Cristian Gómez García (born 27 July 1989) is a Spanish footballer who plays for Girona FC on loan from RCD Espanyol as a central midfielder.

Football career

Born in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona, Catalonia, Gómez began his career with hometown's CE L'Hospitalet and made his senior debuts there, appearing in two Segunda División B games in the 2007–08 season as his team eventually suffered relegation; he was an essential first-team unit in the 2010 promotion back, then scored two goals in 25 games as the club retained its division status.[1]

In late March 2011 Gómez moved to RCD Espanyol, alongside teammate Christian Alfonso – the transfer being effective as of July – initially being assigned to the B-side.[2] On 20 November 2011, he made his main squad – and La Liga – debut, playing 19 minutes in a 0–0 away draw against Real Sociedad;[3] his first top flight goal came on 15 April of the following year, the first of a 4–0 home routing over Valencia CF.[4]

On 23 August 2013 Gómez was loaned to Segunda División side Real Madrid Castilla, with a buyout clause.[5] After appearing sparingly he joined fellow league team Girona FC, also in a temporary deal.[6]
