Anatomical terminology |
In neuroanatomy, the cranial nerve ganglia are parasympathetic ganglia of the cranial nerves.[1]
They include:
- Otic ganglion - glossopharyngeal nerve
- Pterygopalatine ganglion - maxillary nerve
- Submandibular ganglion - lingual nerve
- Ciliary ganglion - oculomotor nerve
Parasympathetic:
- Pterygopalatine ganglion
- Ciliary ganglion
- Otic ganglion
- Submandibular ganglion
- Peripheral autonomic ganglion which arise from the vagus nerve and are found in the stomach, around respiratory organs and the heart.
Sensory:
- Trigeminal ganglion
- Spiral ganglion
- Vestibular ganglion
- Geniculate ganglion
- Superior (jugular) ganglia of glossopharyngeal
- Inferior (petrosal) ganglia of glossopharyngeal
- Superior (rostral) ganglion of vagus nerve
- Inferior (nodose) ganglion of vagus nerve
