Background

Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Wallace is a United States Army veteran, enlisting after high school. Wallace was a U.S. Open Karate Champion before transitioning to Muay Thai in 1999. An accomplished striker, Wallace has held the 2003 ISKA Cruiserweight Muay Thai Championship as an amateur. He also won the 2003 ISKA Middleweight Muay Thai Tournament Championship as a professional, winning 3 fights by knockout in one night.[1] Wallace is also known for competing for the Miami Force in the World Combat League, which is a kickboxing organization promoted by Chuck Norris that only allows strikes above the waist. He went 11-0 before the organization was dissolved. [2]Wallace is the creator of the "Superman Punch" which he first used July 31, 2003.

Mixed martial arts career

Early career

Wallace began his professional mixed martial arts career going 7–1–1 and ending the majority of his wins in the first round. In 2006 Wallace fought Ray Routh at Strikeforce: Shamrock vs. Gracie, winning via KO (knee) early in the second round. Wallace then won three more fights by stoppage before signing with the UFC.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

Wallace made his UFC debut on August 17, 2006, he faced Martin Kampmann at UFC Fight Night 6, losing via rear-naked choke submission in round one. Wallace then won his next two fights by stoppage before returning to the UFC against future Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nate Marquardt at Ortiz vs. Shamrock: The Final Chapter. Wallace was submitted in round two.

Post-UFC

Wallace won his next five fights, mostly by submission. Then suffered some serious injuries in his next few bouts.[3] He is still a Professional Muay Thai fighter and most recently fought at Rise 88 in Japan.
