Anatomical terminology

The corpus hemorrhagicum ("bloody body") is a temporary structure formed immediately after ovulation from the ovarian follicle. After the trauma heals, the subsequent structure is called the corpus luteum (which in turn becomes the corpus albicans before degenerating.)
