Corowa Shire
Corowa Shire is a local government area in the Riverina region in southern New South Wales, Australia. The area is located adjacent to the Murray River and the Riverina Highway.
The Shire includes the towns of Corowa, Howlong, Balldale, Coreen and Daysdale, Rennie and Mulwala.
The mayor of Corowa Shire is yet to be determined, following the 2012 local government election.

Current composition and election method
Corowa Shire Council is composed of nine councillors elected proportionally as a single ward. All councillors are elected for a fixed four-year term of office. The mayor is elected by the councillors at the first meeting of the Council. The most recent election was due to held on 8 September 2012. However, only nine candidates, being the below, nominated for election. There being no additional candidates, the election was uncontested.[3] The makeup of the Council is as follows:[4]
