The Cork–Wexford rivalry is a hurling rivalry between Irish inter-county teams Cork and Wexford. The fixture has been an irregular one due to both teams playing in separate provinces.
Roots
History
Cork and Wexford only met twice during the first sixty years of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Cork claimed victory on both occasions, however, their very first meeting was left unfinished with Cork later being declared the victors. Their rivalry defined a golden age of hurling in the 1950s and delivered record attendances as the sides clashed in the All-Ireland deciders of 1954 and 1956. Both sides claimed one victory apiece. Twenty years later the rivalry received a new lease of life when the sides met in back-to-back championship deciders in 1976 and 1977.

Notable moments
- Cork 2-20 : 3-17 Wexford (10 August 2003 at Croke Park, Dublin) - The art of the last-minute goal was done to perfection by the Model County as it temporarily saved them from elimination and gave them another chance at reaching the All-Ireland final. Wexford were five up in the first half, five down in the second, and it took a Rory McCarthy goal – two minutes and 40 seconds into injury time – to give them a second crack at the whip. But whipped they were in the replay, by 3-17 to 2-7.
