Corey "Homicide" Williams (born August 3, 1977) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for Tadamon Zouk of the Lebanese Basketball League. The 6'3" point guard also holds a Jamaican passport and is known for his Mohawk hairstyle.[1]
High school and college career
Born in New York City, New York, Williams attended Rice High School. He played college basketball for Penn Valley Community College from 1995 to 1997, and Alabama State University from 1997 to 1999.[2] In 1998–99, he played 27 games for the Hornets, averaging 10.6 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game.[3]
Professional career
1999–2005
Williams went undrafted in the 1999 NBA draft. He later joined the Dakota Wizards of the IBA of the 1999–2000 season. In December 1999, he left Dakota.
In 2001, he joined the Brooklyn Kings for the 2001 USBL season. Later that year, he joined Minas of Brazil for the 2001–02 season. In 2003, he re-joined the Brooklyn Kings for the 2003 USBL season.
In December 2003, he joined 08 Stockholm of Sweden for the 2003–04 season.
Williams joined the Denver Nuggets for the 2004 NBA Summer League. Later that year, he joined Yunnan Honghe of China for the 2004–05 season.
2005–06 season
On October 3, 2005, he signed with the Toronto Raptors. However, he was waived by the Raptors on October 27.[4] On November 3, 2005, he was selected in the 9th round of the 2005 NBA D-League draft by the Austin Toros.[4] On November 17, he was waived by the Toros.[5]
In December 2005, he signed with Sellbytel Baskets Nürnberg of Germany. He left Nürnberg after 3 games. In January 2006, he joined the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the CBA for the rest of the 2005–06 season. Following the conclusion of the CBA season, he joined Guaiqueríes de Margarita of Venezuela for one game.
2006–07 season
Williams joined the Indiana Pacers for the 2006 NBA Summer League. On October 2, 2006, he signed with the Denver Nuggets. However, he was waived by the Nuggets on October 8.[4] Later that month, he signed with Cholet Basket of France for the 2006–07 season. In December 2006, he left Cholet after just 8 games. On January 1, 2007, he was acquired by the Sioux Falls Skyforce of the NBA D-League. On February 16, 2007, he was waived by the Skyforce. On February 23, he was acquired by the Dakota Wizards.[6]
2007–08 season
Williams joined the Golden State Warriors for the 2007 NBA Summer League. On October 3, 2007, he signed with the Townsville Crocodiles for the rest of the 2007–08 NBL season, replacing the injured Rosell Ellis.[7] In March 2008, following the conclusion of the NBL season, he joined KK Cibona of Croatia for the rest of the 2007–08 A-1 League season.
2008–2010
In April 2008, he re-signed with the Townsville Crocodiles on a two-year deal.[8] Following the conclusion of the 2008–09 NBL season, he joined Trotamundos de Carabobo of Venezuela for the 2009 LPB season.
Williams went on the win the NBL's Most Valuable Player award for the 2009–10 season.[9]
2010–11 season
In November 2010, he signed with the Melbourne Tigers for the rest of the 2010–11 NBL season.[10] In his four NBL seasons, Williams played 114 games (91 for Townsville and 23 for Melbourne) and averaged 19.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game.[11]
2012–present
In January 2012, he signed with Byblos Club of Lebanon for the rest of the 2011–12 season. He later joined Piratas de Quebradillas for the 2012 BSN season. Later that year, he joined Bejje SC of Lebanon for the 2012–13 season.
In September 2013, he signed with Duhok of Iraq[12] but left after pre-season. In November 2013, he joined Hoops Club.[13] In December 2013, he left Hoops. In January 2014, he joined Al Mouttahed Tripoli for the rest of the 2013–14 season.[14]
On February 27, 2015, Williams signed with Tadamon Zouk of Lebanon.[15]
