Corey-Jackson Carter (born June 6, 1988), is a British-American singer-songwriter from London, England.[1] Carter, a Pop & R&B recording artist, has written songs for top American singers such as Rihanna, Beyonce & Michael Buble.[2]

Biography

Corey-Jackson Carter was born and raised in various places throughout his life, London, England, and Savannah, Georgia, where he began his music career. Their inspiration and love for music was instilled in them by his mother Eunice. Corey-Jackson Carter was influenced by his mothers willingness to give up her dreams of performing music and leave London and move to United States to continue to raise her family. At 12 years old, Corey moved alongside his family to Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Georgia, saddened by the sudden move to the Americas, Corey started to keep a journal of his thoughts. Noticing her son's interest in writing and singing his mother placed him in classical music training. Corey wrote and produced his first full song at the age of 14. At the age of 16 Corey embarked on college which he attended in Atlanta, Georgia at Georgia Technical College. While in Atlanta, Georgia he met various producers and songwriters who gave him opportunities. It wasn't until late 2007, when he met music producer Jim Beanz that Corey-Jackson Carter finally realized his full potential. He was given his first songwriting placement on the Super-Group Danity Kane's double platinum sophomore album Welcome To The Dollhouse with the songs 'Striptease' & '2 Of You'. He was also asked to complete the record 'What It Feels Like' for Day26's debut album. In 2008 he wrote the record 'Stop Sign' with Solange Knowles for Beyoncé's I Am Sasha Fierce, but the record wasn't placed and was later leaked. He would be asked by Beyoncé to reconstruct a record for her next album. That song ended up being a record he co-wrote with The-Dream, titled 1+1. Also in 2011, he co-wrote the platinum selling single "S&M" performed by Rihanna. In 2012, he was nominated for his first Grammy's at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards for his contribution to Beyoncé's 4. He was also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album for Rihanna’s S&M. Since his songwriting career has rocketed, he had received credit for songwriting and vocal production. He has collaborated with some of today's most well received artist. In the five years since arriving on the music scene, Corey-Jackson Carter has been responsible for or contributed to over 10 million records in sales, six number one albums and seven top ten singles.

Current Projects

Carter is currently working on his debut album. It has also been reported that he is in the studio with Frank Ocean, Omarion, Teairra Mari, & Newcomer R&B Artist RodBe.
