Continental Star F.C. are a football club based in West Midlands, England, currently members of the Midland League Premier Division.

History

Continental Star FC was founded in 1973 in the Lozells area of Birmingham under the name of Villa Star by Orville Broomfield, the current name being adopted two years later. In 1981 they joined the Birmingham Works League and worked their way up from Division 4B to the Premier Division over many seasons.

In 1993 the decision was made to step up to the Midland Combination, initially in Division Three, but within four seasons they had been promoted to the Premier Division, where they remained until gaining promotion to the Midland Alliance in 2012.

In 2001 they changed their name to Handsworth Continental Star, but this name change only lasted for one season.

In 2009 club general manager and chief executive Lincoln Moses was awarded an MBE for his services to the local community.[2]

Ground

Since entering senior football the club has shared the ground of Coleshill Town, Paget Rangers and Sandwell Borough and, with effect from 2009, Rushall Olympic.[3]
