Conospermum is a genus of 53 species in the family Proteaceae endemic to Australia. They grow as shrubs or small trees and are fairly widespread over the continent. They are not common in horticulture. The name comes from the Greek for "cone" and "seed", with reference to the shape of the nut. Some of the New South Wales species are known as smoke bushes.[1]
