Conor Meechan is a Scottish film editor. He is possibly best known for his editing work on the film, The Groundsman which earned him the Best Editor accolade at the 2014 British Academy Scotland New Talent Awards.[1]

Life and career

Conor Meechan graduated from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2014 having studied Digital Film and Television. His post production skills lead him to being involved in editing the film, The Groundsman, which was the Graduation Film for Jonny Blair who was in the year above him at the time. Meechan was awarded the Best Editor accolade at the 2014 British Academy Scotland New Talent Awards which were hosted by Muriel Gray at The Arches (Glasgow). Speaking to the Daily Record after the show, Meechan said " “I’ve always had a passion for editing and directing. I have been making movies since I was 12, so to be recognised by the Academy at such an early stage in my career is really exciting.”.[2]

Since graduating, he has been working on the CBBC series The Sparticle Mystery.[3]
