Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association
The Conference of Independent Schools of Ontario Athletic Association, or CISAA, is a sports conference for various member private schools located primarily in the southern part of the province of Ontario, and its teams regularly compete against public high schools in the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association OFSAA provincial championships in numerous sports.
Many of the schools are located in or near the Greater Toronto Area. One member school, Nichols School, is located in Buffalo, New York.
The CISAA grew out of the Little Big Four conference consisting of Upper Canada College (Toronto), St. Andrew's College (Aurora, Ontario), Ridley College (St. Catharines, Ontario) and Trinity College School (Port Hope), four of the oldest private schools in Canada, and at one time each a boys school. Ridley and TCS are now co-educational schools, as are many of the CISAA schools. Others are either all-girls or all-boys schools.
The league now boasts a total of 37 member schools.
