The Community of Royalist People's Party (Khmer: គណបក្សសង្គមរាស្រ្តរាជាធិបតេយ្យ; CRPP) is a Cambodian political party founded in March 2014 by Prince Norodom Ranariddh. The royalist party was founded by prince and former prime minister Norodom Ranariddh who had voluntarily stepped down from politics in 2012. Ranariddh claimed he was making a comeback to unite the royalist movement in hopes of having a voice in parliament. However, many speculate he is brought back by Hun Sen to bolster support for his government, and to draw support away from the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party but the prince has denied these claims.[2] The CRPP was subsequently dissolved in January 2015 when Ranariddh re-joined FUNCINPEC.[3]
