Comcast Innovation and Technology Center is a skyscraper under construction in Philadelphia.[1] The 59 floor building, with a height of 1,121 feet (342 m), will be the eighth-tallest building in the U.S., and the tallest building in the U.S. outside of Manhattan and Chicago (and therefore the tallest building in Pennsylvania). It will be adjacent to the Comcast Center, the headquarters of Comcast.[2]
Design
The architect is Lord Norman Foster,[3][4][5] with interior design by Gensler.[6]
Use
On a clear day from the top roof an individual will be able to see 80 miles. It would consist primarily of office and hotel space but would also include at least three TV studios, a retail mall, a parking garage on the lower levels, and a top-floor restaurant. The entire project consists of over 1,500,000 square feet (140,000 m2). The property will be co-owned by Comcast and Liberty Property Trust, and has an estimated cost of $1.2 billion.
It was also announced that NBC10 Philadelphia and Telemundo Philadelphia will move from Bala Cynwyd to occupy floors and three television studios in the building.[7]
