Colombo Baking Company

Colombo Baking Company was a bakery founded in 1896, known for their sourdough bread. They are now a wholly owned division of Hostess Brands. The company is currently located in Oakland, California. Along with Toscana and Parisian Bakery, it is part of the San Francisco French Bread Company (SFFBC), which was acquired by Hostess in 1984. The brands compete locally in the San Francisco Bay Area.[1] As a result of Hostess having declared they will liquidate the company, Colombo is planning to shutter its operations.[2][3] The SFFBC, through Colombo's bakery, was the maker of Emperor Norton San Francisco Sourdough Snacks, which ceased production in 2012, prior to the Hostess liquidation.[4]
