The College of Art and Social Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology consists of Four Faculties and a Research Centre. It was established by the University Statute, Statute 33, which was promulgated on 29 October 2004. The Provost officially assumed duty on 17 th December 2005. The College is the largest with a student population of 11,000 as well as a teaching and research staff population of 154.[1]
The Provost is the administrative head of the College. He supervises all activities in the College. He is ably assisted by the Deans of the various faculties under the College. Currently, Prof. Samuel Afrane is the Provost of the College. At the student level, is the president of the Students' Council. Popularly known as the CASS Students' Council. It is mandated to bring together, all the students under the College and champion their welfare concerns. Currently, Mr. Henry Adjei, a final year student of Business Administration, heads the students' council of the college.
Academics
The college of arts and social science offers undergraduate programmes leading to the award of a Bachelor of Art and a Bachelor of Science degree in the case of a Business Administration student as well as postgraduate programmes leading to MA/MSc and MPhil.

The CASS Students Council is the official union of all students in the college made up of the Social Sciences Society, Law Students Union, KSB Students Association and the Art Society. It is headed by Mr. Henry Adjei. It organizes elections annually to select new leaders. The students council undertakes various initiatives at the student level. All students are also represented on the College Board by the president. Its notable projects include the SPSS Classes, the CASS Week Celebration, the Driving Lessons Project, the Future Leaders Mentorship Project etc.[3] Its website is casssc.knust.edu.gh
