Colfax Corporation
Colfax Corporation is a US-based company in Annapolis Junction, Maryland, indexed on the NYSE.Founded as a successor of the Danaher company,[1] Colfax Corp. acquired in 2011 Charter International PLC[2] which owned ESAB (8 500 employees worldwide, 2012). Another company under its control is Allweiler[3] (2 100 employees worldwide, 2011 [4])
History
Started in 1995 by the two brothers Steven and Mitchell Rales with the goal of acquiring worldwide industrial enterprises.[5]
In the 1st quarter of 2008, it net profit was $6.8 million.[6]
In January 2012 г. it completed the acquisition of ESAB and Howden[7] for $2.4 Billion.[8]
In November 2012 it closed one of the ESAB manufactures in Ihtiman, Bulgaria and fired all of the employees.[9]
The revenue of the company for 2012 is 3 billion USD.[10]
