Codophila varia is a species of 'shield bugs' belonging to the Pentatomidae family Pentatomidae subfamily.
It is present around most of Europe.
The adults reach a body length of 9–14 millimetres (0.35–0.55 in) and can mainly be encountered from June through August feeding on Asteraceae (especially on Echinops spinosus) and Apiaceae species.
