Clubscan

Clubscan is an ID card scanning system invented by Tamlyn Thompson in 2005 http://www.clubscan.co.uk It takes scanned images of clubbers' ID documents and stores their personal details, for the purpose of age verification, identifying barred members and identifying individuals to the authorities in the case of criminal incidents.

Clubscan is now discontinued and replaced by SCAN NET (the Safer Clubbing At Night Network) and serving over 1200 connected venues in the U.K and Australia alone. Making it the worlds leading Passport Scanner.

Use in UK nightclubs

UK licensing authorities are increasingly requiring nightclubs to scan and retain clubbers' ID details.[1][2] Some notable London clubs use Clubscan for this purpose, including The Shunt Lounge.[3]
