Club Africain (Arabic: النادي الإفريقي), also known as CA or Ennedi Lefriqi, is a Tunisian omnisport club founded in 1920 in the capital city, Tunis. Club Africain is best known for its association football team, which competes in the Tunisian Championship and is currently coached by French Daniel Sanchez. Club Africain is one of the most poular football clubs in Tunisia. It fields several sport teams, including football, handball, and basketball.
It is a team from Tunisia that was founded on January 15, 1919. The Stade Olympique d'El Menzah is the club's home stadium.
History
In 1991 Club Africain beat Nakivubo Villa of Uganda 7-3 (6-2 in Tunis and 1-1 in Mityana) in the final of the 1991 African Cup of Champions.[1] The club won its 12th Tunisian League title in 2007-08.[2] They reached the final of the 2011 CAF Confederation Cup, where they lost on penalties to Moroccan team MAS Fez.[3]
