Coursework is undertaken with the primary responsibility for progress and completion set by the student.[1]

History

Clonlara was founded by Pat Montgomery[4] in 1967 as a private day school. A second program was established in 1979, the Clonlara Home Based Education Program, which accommodates home schooling families in the United States and over 24 other countries.

According to its website, the founders' vision for the school was to create a school where children of all creeds, races and ages would learn and grow in an unhurried, relaxed atmosphere; where enrollment would be a limited number of students so that the children, staff and parents would all get to know one another; and where parents would share intimately in the life of the school and in the education of the children.[5]
