Claude Burdin

Claude Burdin (March 19 1788 November 12 1873) was a French engineer. Born in Lépin-le-Lac, Savoie he was professor at the school of mines in Saint-Étienne.[1] He proposed the concept and developed the term turbine from Latin turbo for whirlpool.
