Clare Burson is an American singer-songwriter.[1] She has released four albums. Her 2010 release Silver and Ash is a concept album about her ancestors' lives in Nazi Germany.[2][3]
Early life
Burson was born in Memphis, Tennessee.[4] She is a classically trained violinist. After graduating from Brown University, she studied Identity Politics and The Holocaust in Germany on a Fulbright Scholarship.[3][5]
Music career
Silver and Ash
Burson's 2010 release Silver and Ash was released by Rounder Records, and produced by Tucker Martine.[3] The content of album is based on Burson's research on her family's life in Nazi Germany.[6] She won a grant from Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artist to write an album with Jewish themes.[6]
