Citizens' Congress of the Republic of Latvia
The Citizens' Congress of the Republic of Latvia (Latvian: Latvijas Republikas Pilsoņu Kongress) was an organisation established in Latvia in 1989 as part of the Latvian independence movement. It was formed in defiance of the Soviet regime's Latvian SSR, whose authority it denied, and claimed direct lineage to the interwar Latvian republic. It was dissolved after Latvian independence and the creation of a sovereign Saeima.
