Christopher Buehlman

Christopher Buehlman (born 1969 in Tampa, Florida) is a playwright, poet, novelist, and comedian from St. Petersburg, Florida.

Life

He was adopted in 1969 by a family in St. Petersburg, Florida.

In 1994, he earned a bachelor's degree in French from Florida State University.[1]

He plays taverns, clubs, and renaissance festivals across the United States as Christophe the Insultor, a verbal mercenary people may hire to insult their friends. In 1999, he read at the University of Michigan.[2]

His poetry has appeared in The Atlanta Review, and other literary and university publications. He was a finalist in the 2006 War Poetry Contest, and the 2008 Forward poetry prize list.[3]

His first full-length play, Hot Nights for the War Wives of Ithaka, debuted at Jobsite Theater of Tampa in March 2012. He is the author of numerous short plays often performed out of doors. He wrote and performed a one-man show about Christopher Marlowe.

His first novel, Those Across The River, was released in 2011, and received a nomination for Best Novel for the World Fantasy Awards.[4]
