Christie Hsiao

Christie Hsiao is the founder, president, and CEO of Serenity Media Group, Inc. She has also appeared in the films The Pool Boys (2011) and That Game of Chess (2005).

She serves as creative director for Serenity's film, TV and digital media projects, as well as overseeing Serenity's marketing strategy and business development.[1]

Education

After moving to California to pursue her Bachelor's degree at University of California, Los Angeles, she majored in Communications and East Asian Studies, and earned an MBA from Pepperdine University.[2] Hsiao went on to study film at New York University where she wrote, directed and produced several well-reviewed short films.[3]

Career

Hsiao was the consulting producer for several independent films, including The Gold Retrievers with Billy Zane, Steve Guttenberg and Curtis Armstrong; Dark Honeymoon with Roy Scheider, Eric Roberts, Tia Carrere and Daryl Hannah and Love is the Drug with Lizzy Caplan, John Patrick Amedori, and Daryl Hannah.[3] She was the producer for Without a Badge with Permut Presentations. She was the senior production executive for Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return with Martin Short, Jim Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Kelsey Grammer.

She launched Serenity Media Group in 2010.[2]

In November 2013, Hsiao's children's novel Journey to Rainbow Island (ISBN 978-1939529244) was published by BenBella Books.[4]
