Christianity in Kano State

Christianity is a minority in Nigerian Kano State, where Sharia is valid. The conflict between religions in Nigeria takes place in the state, too.^[1] Since 2006, even Christian schoolgirls of private schools have to wear the veil. ^[2] Churches and villages in the state have been torn down after the 2011 presidential election. ^{[3] [4]} About 3000 Christians died due to sectarian violence in and around Kano in 2004. ^[5] All Christian church services were forbidden in 2003. ^[6]
