Christian Constant (born May 18, 1950) is a French chef.
Life and career
Christian Constant was born in Montauban, Tarn-et-Garonne in the region of Midi-Pyrénées. He began his career as a chef in 1988 at the Hôtel Crillon in Paris before working right after at the Hôtel Ritz. He then founded his first restaurant Le Violon d'Ingres in 1996 and received one Michelin star.
He owns today four restaurants with each one their style and their own chef : Le Violon d'Ingres, Le Café Constant, and Les Cocottes de Christian Constant, a restaurant offering traditional recipes cooked in Staub Dutch ovens. He also owns since June 8, 2011 Le Bibent, a brasserie located in Toulouse. All of his restaurants are opened 7 days a week.
Television
Since 2010, he is a member of the jury in the French version of Top Chef on M6. He also presents on the same channel a similar short program titled Astuce de Chef alternatively with the other members of the jury, where he shows some cooking tips while preparing a dish.
