Chris Tye

Chris Tye is a singer-songwriter born in Nuneaton, England in 1980 and since 2000 has been based in Birmingham.

His first album Somewhere Down The Line[1] was released in 2006 with the artwork being designed by Cally Callomon.

In 2011, he released Matchbox Stand[2] which he recorded in Brighton with Tim Bidwell (Kate Walsh).

Tye has also recorded with Fink and Guy Massey (Manic Street Preachers/The Bees).

Since 2006 he has played hundreds of gigs with many notable acts including Amy Winehouse, Fionn Regan, Joan As Police Woman, Bic Runga, Teddy Thompson, Stephen Fretwell, Robert Post and Ben Thomson, and played at venues including London’s Bush Hall, Bloomsbury Theatre and Glee Club.

Chris Tye appeared at The Big Session Festival in June 2012 [3]

The album Paper Grenande is due to be released in 2014 and is being part funded through Pledge [4]

Personal life

Chris is married to Laura Tye, a dancer with the Birmingham Royal Ballet, and he has two daughters.
