Christopher Michael "Chris" Hall (born 27 November 1986) is an English television actor and footballer. He has played as a striker for Oldham Athletic, Stalybridge Celtic and Bradford Park Avenue and currently plays for Harrogate Town.
Football career
Oldham Athletic
Born in Manchester, Hall made his debut for Oldham at 16 years old on 10 October 2003 in Oldham's 2-2 away draw at Peterborough United. This made him one of the youngest ever players to make their debut for the club. He made seven starts and 34 substitute appearances in the 2002-03 season, scoring four goals, all in the FA Cup.
In 2007, Hall retired from football, despite having a year left on his current contract, citing personal reasons. However, on 9 July 2007, he was announced as a player for Conference North team Stalybridge Celtic on a semi-professional contract. He finished the season top goal scorer and was called up to the England C squad. The next year Hall moved to Bradford Park Avenue where he played for two seasons, leaving in May 2010. He signed for Mossley A.F.C. in February 2011 and played 12 games before retiring again in May 2011.[1][2]
Television career
Hall's television acting debut came in 2008 on the final series of Grange Hill, where he appeared as ex-pupil and football superstar Dwayne Miller. Subsequent roles later that year included the BBC drama spin-off Spooks: Code 9 and ITV daytime drama serial The Royal Today. He spent three months portraying music producer Matt Crosby in the teen soap Hollyoaks. He joined the cast in November 2008, and remained there until his character's departure on 26 January 2009. Later that year, he landed a minor role on the ITV1 detective drama series Blue Murder, where he played a murder suspect alongside Holliday Grainger. He followed that up with numerous roles including a small appearance in Coronation Street. Hall appeared on Channel 4 drama Shameless in 2011, and starred in three-part drama Love Life and Scott & Bailey. More recent projects include a role on Jimmy McGovern's series Accused and a guest appearance on Channel 4's Coming Up.
