Choutuppal is a census town and mandal headquarters in Nalgonda district in the state of Telangana, India.Its part of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority.

Demographics

As of 2011 India census,[1] Choutuppal had a population of 14,071. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Choutuppal has an average literacy rate of 65%, higher than the national average of 73.65: male literacy is 73% and, female literacy is 58%. In Choutuppal, 15% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Prominent Personalities

Ranga Reddy Kandala, a notable communist (Communist Party of India (Marxist)) leader hailed from Thumbavi village of this mandal. He dedicated his life for the upliftment of poor and suppressed. He led many agitations to improve the living standards of the people in this region. He was serving as the sarpanch of panthangi Gram panchayat, when he was brutally murdered by political opponents. He was assassinated on 22 February 1985, while addressing a public meeting. He is an inspiration for most of the current leaders, who are working to fulfill his dreams by walking in his foot steps.

Sheik Madar Sahab (Sheik Fareed) a notable person hailed from Panthangi, he helped may poor and suppressed people of Nalgonda District he also helped many poor children of panthangi village in their education in the 1970s.
