Chloe Elizabeth Lukasiak (born May 25, 2001)[1] is an American child actress, dancer, television personality, and model. She is known for her role on Lifetime's reality television series, Dance Moms. Lukasiak was an original cast member of the Dance Moms series from 2011-2014 (Seasons 1-4).

Early life

Lukasiak was born on May 25, 2001 in Churchill, Pennsylvania[1] to Christi and Marc Lukasiak. Lukasiak has a younger sister, Clara. She and her family reside in Mars, Pennsylvania.[2]

Lukasiak began dance classes at the Abby Lee Dance Company (Reign Dance Productions) at age two.[2] From the ages of four to thirteen, Lukasiak competed throughout the United States as part of the Abby Lee Dance Company, winning titles at regional, state, and national levels from the competitive dance industry. Her dance genre specialties are lyrical and contemporary,[2] although she has also competed numbers in the genres of musical theatre, ballet, jazz, hip hop, and Bollywood.

Dance Moms

In 2011, Lukasiak and her mother, alongside Abby Lee Dance Company owner Abby Lee Miller, other young dancers, and their mothers, were cast on Lifetime’s Dance Moms. Together they made up Miller's "Junior Elite Competition Team," and their activities as such were presented on the show. Chloe and the rest of her team learned new dances, each week, traveling to weekly competitions as far away as Florida, Texas, and California. They also filmed reunion shows, special episodes, and interviews. Off the show, Lukasiak and her team continued to participate in nightly dance classes, non-televised competitions, and annual ALDC Showcases (recitals). Several of the Dance Moms storylines stemmed from conflicts between Lukasiak's mother, Christi, and Miller. Lukasiak was considered a fan favorite,[3]

With the television show, Lukasiak and her team became well-known in the dance community and among television viewers, and they became experienced at photo shoots, competing, performing, and live appearances. During her years on the show, Lukasiak participated in all of these activities as well as modeling for various fashion lines, including Glitzy Girl and Sally Miller.[2] She also appeared in music videos for co-star Brooke Hyland[4] and musical artist Lux (daughter of actor Ted Danson), the latter of which featured Lukasiak portraying a child version of Lux.[5]

In June 2014, after the Los Angeles national competition (filmed for an episode aired Oct. 7, 2014), Lukasiak and her mother decided to quit both the ALDC team and the Dance Moms television show.[3]

Team Chloe Dance Project

In September 2014, Lukasiak became a spokesmodel for Just For Kix, an American dancewear company. With the company's partnership, she created an anti-bullying campaign called #NobodyisYOU.[6] The campaign began with a brief video featuring Lukasiak, followed by a longer dance video to the music of "Skyscraper" by Demi Lovato and choreographed by Blake McGrath and Shannon Mather.[7] McGrath later hired her to be a dance teaching assistant for VIP Dance Events in September 2014 and July 2015.[8]

Lukasiak has continued dance training with Studio 19 Dance Complex, located in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania.[9] She began competing for her new team in March 2015, participating in award-winning group dances on the junior, teen and senior level as well as a senior-level duo with an anti-suicide message, choreographed by Shannon Mather.[10][11]

Chloe has her own YouTube channel where she posts personal videos on Mondays (DIY baking, "tag" interviews, morning and night routines, book club reviews, and travel videos) and new dance-related videos every Tuesday (dance studio footage, dance tutorials, competition performances, and music videos).[12][13] On February 25, 2015, she made her first official music video appearance outside Dance Moms, as the lead for Jess Godwin's song "Fool Me Once." [14] In March 2015, she released a music video interpretation of Love is Blindness, a Jack White cover of the U2 song.[15] Upcoming official music videos include Solveig Romero's song "Turn It Up" and Bianca Ryan's new music video "Alice." She has also been cast in an upcoming film,[2] and a TV show.
