Chintapalli is a Village and Gram panchayat in Pusapatirega mandal of Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh, India.
It is located about 12 kilometers from the mandal headquarters Pusapatirega and about 25 kilometers from Vizianagaram city.[1]
Santapille Lighthouse
There is an ancient Lighthouse called "Santapille Lighthouse" in the village.[2] Its main objective is to warn about the danger of the Shoal six miles off the coast. It was first commissioned in 1840 and subsequently renovated in the years 1849, 1903 and 1995.
It was ruled by Mongam family. Late Mongam Chinnaih Dora is the first ruler and a land lord. Born in caste of Kshtriya Kapu referred as Telaga. Mongam families are titled with the name Dora as a last name. Sirimanutsav were carried here by Mongam family once for every four years. Erakamma is god worshiped by the people of Chintapalli. As per history, Erakamma is spouse of Mongam chinnaih Dora.
