Chincheros is a town in southern Peru, capital of the province with the same name in the region Apurímac. The Province of Chincheros is one of the provinces in Apurimac Region in Peru. As of the last Census in 2012, Chincheros has a total population of 51,583. Chincneros is situated in the North West Province of Abancay in Apurimac. It is known for its variable and moderate climates, the natural of their mountains, beautiful forest, natural landscaping, rivers, and valleys and a diversities of climates.

Chincheros Province is situated on the banks of river Chincheros, which is a tributary of the river valley Pampas. The people in the province are mainly indigenous Citizen of the Chankas Culture descent, with Quechua and Runa Sumi being the primary languages.
