Chillicothe Turnpike

The Chillicothe Turnpike was an early highway that led from Painesville, Ohio east of Cleveland down to the old Ohio capital of Chillicothe. Established in 1802 by Benjamin Tappan,[1] remnants of road named Chillicothe Road still remain on portions of

through Lake and Geauga, and Portage counties.
