The Children's Museum of Science and Technology (CMOST) is a science museum for children in Troy, New York run by CNSE. The museum has various exhibits, including a digital planetarium (showing various films including Molecularium)and almost 100 living animals.[2] The museum doesn't admit adults unless accompanied by children.[3]
History
The museum opened as The Junior Museum in 1954, a museum containing hands-on exhibits for children housed in the basement of the Rensselaer Historical Society.[1] The museum relocated three times until it finally moved to the Rensselaer Technology Park and re-branded as the Children’s Museum of Science and Technology. In an announcement in 2013, the museum announced a partnership with SUNY Colleges of Nanoscale Science and Engineering and re-branded again as CNES CMOST. It has now released that in fall 2015 it will be relocating again to the SUNY polytechnic campus.[4]
