Chi-Congo is a 1970 album recorded in Paris by the Art Ensemble of Chicago first released in 1972 on the Decca Records label, later reissued in the US by Paula. It features performances by Lester Bowie, Joseph Jarman, Roscoe Mitchell, Malachi Favors Maghostut, and Don Moye. It was reissued on CD in the 1990s by Fuel 2000, missing the songwriting credits and mastered from a (fairly noisy) vinyl source.

Reception

The Allmusic review by Rob Ferrier awarded the album 4 stars noting that "these gentlemen are sterling musicians and everything is done for a purpose, exactly when they want it to happen. A wonderful record by a bunch of really great guys".[1]
