Chhedi Paswan
Chhedi Paswan (b 1956) is a BJP member of 16th Lok Sabha (2014-2019) and a former member of Bihar Legislative Assembly .[1]
He was born on 4 February 1956 in Takia village of Sasaram district in Bihar.
Between 1985-89 he was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (India)|Member of the Legislative Assembly]] of Bihar representing the Janata Dal (United) party from the Mohania constituency of Sasaram, Rohtas district. He was Secretary General of the Yuva Lok Dal in Bihar between 1987-89.
Paswan was elected to the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India, in 1989 and 1991 on Janata Dal ticket from Sasaram, defeating Meira Kumar of the Indian National Congress party on both occasions. He lost the 1996 Lok Sabha election to Muni Lall of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He contested the 2014 Lok Sabha election after defecting to the BJP and won the Sasaram seat.
