Cherukupalle is a village and mandal of the Guntur District, in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.

History

Historically, Arumbaka is the main village and Cherukupalle is still written as Arumbaka Sivaru Cherukupalle in Revenue and Census records.[2] Now Arumbaka is one of the many minor Panchayats in Cherukupalle Mandal. This is located on National Highway 214A (India).

Economy

Agriculture is the primary occupation in the area, with paddy as kharif crop. Black gram (ground nut in some sandy soils) as rabi crop. They depend on canal irrigation for water. Milk supply is another major source of income. There are ten rice mills in the mandal. Rambhotlavari Palem for its ability to supply of seedlings for Rice, Sweet potatoes almost throughout the year. Cherukupalli was known for bullock carts which are for agriculture and commercial needs.

Education

Cherukupalle has a number of schools, intermediate colleges, degree colleges, MBA College and Engineering colleges in Kanagala which is 6 km away. Government Girls Hostel at Kavur Village, 3 km from Cherukupalle. Tripuraneni Rama Swami Chowdari Govt. ITI in Gudavalli, 4 km from Cherukupalle. HMKS Engineering college in kanagala and also B.Ed college Govt. Jr college at Kavur village, 3 km from Cherukupalli & SMPA degree college in Arumbaka.
